Operational & Deputy Children’s Centre Manager - Aggie Kent

“My role is to ensure that ALL services, activities and groups are delivered in a timely fit for purpose manner, cost effective and value for money.

This naturally includes the authority to authorise and challenge the spending of public monies (i.e. Centre’s budgets)  

My role entails supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in their work as well  as providing a buffer between operations and strategic work  of the Children’s Centre.

Overseeing the building of networks, new relationships ongoing consultation with service users, the community, partner agencies and the local authority informing  and improve planning and delivery of service. Thus ensuring that Children and Families in our catchment area are able to enjoy high quality services from Anthony Road Children’s Centre.”


Childrens' Centre Service Lead – Zahida Parveen

As Children's Centre Service Lead I ensure that effective outreach is undertaken into the community where the most disadvantaged families are encouraged to access and engage with Children’s Centre services.

Community Development workers undertake out reach work in the community and in the centres to engage with parents and their children. They have an important role in the community and are a focal point of contact for the families and continuously raise the communities’ awareness of the services. My role is to support the team in making sure that the service is delivered in line to ECM targets and quality assuring the service they deliver. I have a diverse team which reflects the local community that we serve.

I check the quality of the service provided by the Development Workers and consult with parents on a regular basis to help us improve services.  One of the ways we consult with parent is through Parents Forum.  This is a group of parents who represent the community. They meet monthly with the development workers to feedback on services and to help plan future services. They also undertake fundraising events organised by themselves with support from the development team.

My role is to build a good working relationship with other local Children’s Centres and partnership work with local organisations and schools. Family Support is given on referral. This can be done by self referral by the parent or any other agencies working with the parent. Support can be undertaken at the parent’s home or at the Centre. The need could be for housing, debt advice, childcare needs and behaviour support.


Nursery Manager - Julie Hammond

The role of the Nursery manager is to ensure all children learn and develop through the Early Years Foundation Stage.

All children attending Sunshine Nursery are provided with opportunities to ensure their needs are met within a safe, secure, stimulating and fully inclusive setting.

Every child is "unique" in their own right, here at Sunshine Nursery we strive to meet their individual needs.
